Clinical Trials
The Department of Agriculture, Food andĀ the MarineĀ is the competent authority for licensing clinical trials in animals. The Department will regularly consult with the IMB before deciding to grant approval for a clinical trial. On receipt of a valid application from the Department, the IMB reviews the information based on an assessment of the expected risks to the animal, the user, the consumer and the environment as well as on the conduct of the proposed study.
Queries on fees, application forms and timeframes for consideration of clinical trials should be referred to the
Department
