In addition to its role as competent authority for granting marketing authorisations for veterinary medicines, the IMB is also involved in a number of other activities. Further information about these additional activities is provided in this section of our website. They include:

• Classification of borderline products including review of classification enquiries.
• Providing input to the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine in respect of clinical trials on veterinary medicines.
• Providing information on the use of veterinary medicines outside the approved label.
• Monitoring the ongoing safety, quality and efficacy of veterinary medicines. Further information on this function is available from the Drug Safety section of the website.
