Veterinary Medicines
Welcome to the veterinary medicines section of the Irish Medicines Board (IMB) website.
The IMB is currently working on a revised version of the veterinary medicines product listing. Information relating to the ‘method of supply’ may not be displayed for all products at this time. While this work is ongoing we would ask that queries relating to the legal status be sent by email to vetinfo@imb.ie

The content included here is intended to provide our stakeholders with information on the role of the IMB in respect of veterinary medicines.
An outline of our primary licensing and safety monitoring functions is provided as well information on our additional activities such as classifying borderline products and contributing to the regulation of clinical trials.
There is also a section providing information on the availability of veterinary medicines including the various national and international initiatives in place to deal with this issue.
In addition, a news and publications area provides visitors to the website with easy access to the latest veterinary medicines content including updates on safety issues, events, fees and publications. There is also a Frequently Asked Questions document and a brief outline of the regulatory process for veterinary medicines.
Finally, there is an introduction to the Veterinary Medicines Department in the IMB and an overview of the role of the Advisory Committee for Veterinary Medicines.
