Please find herewith an important safety communication from GlaxoSmithKline on screening for carriage of the HLA-B*5701 allele prior to the initiation of treatment with any abacavir sulfate-containing product; these include Ziagen Tablets and Oral Solution, Kivexa Tablets and Trizivir Tablets.
