Retailer pleads guilty to supply of unauthorised medicines

The Irish Medicines Board (IMB) today noted the Dublin District Court’s ruling (03 April, 2012) in a case involving the supply of unauthorised and prescription only medicines.

Gary Murphy pleaded guilty to two charges of keeping unauthorised prescription only medicines for supply at the retail outlet Cosmic Closet Ltd., at Bolton Street, Dublin. The charges arose following an investigation by the IMB whose officers had found illegal medicines on the premises. These illegal medicines contained active ingredients which are found in authorised products for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.
