Irish Medicines Board and Parenteral Drug Association Ireland Host Major Scientific Meeting on Gene, Cell and Tissue Therapies

The Irish Medicines Board (IMB) and the Parenteral Drug Association (PDA) Ireland Chapter hosted a major two day scientific gathering (10 and 11 July 2012) entitled “Making Gene and Cell Therapy Medicines a Reality”; a satellite event to the EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF2012).

The two day IMB/PDA event focussed on the regulatory framework and challenges of translating the basic scientific discoveries related to molecular and cell biology into novel, commercial gene and cellular therapies. The meeting brought together leading experts from regulatory authorities including the European Medicines Agency, the US FDA and the IMB with expert academic and industrial scientists.
