IMB recommends vigilance of children’s cosmetics ahead of Halloween
19 October 2011
Parents urged to review ingredients of face paints prior to purchase
The Irish Medicines Board (IMB), in conjunction with the Health Service Executive (HSE), is calling on parents to be aware of the dangers posed by the contents of some children’s face paints when purchasing this Halloween.
High levels of lead have been found in some brands of children’s cosmetics in the last number of years.
Parents are advised to review the ingredients of each pack of face paints and ensure that they are purchasing from reputable sources.
