Chief Executive of the Irish Medicines Board Unanimously Re-elected as Chairman of the European Medicines Agency

Mr Pat O’Mahony, Chief Executive of the Irish Medicines Board (IMB), has been unanimously re-elected as Chairman of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) for a further three years with immediate effect.
The EMA is the European Union body responsible for coordinating the scientific resources available in the Member States for the evaluation, supervision and pharmacovigilance of medicinal products.
Commenting on his appointment the Minister for Health and Children, Ms Mary Harney TD, said “I am delighted to learn of the unanimous re-election of Pat O’Mahony to the post of Chair of the EMA for a second term. I extend my sincerest congratulations to him and wish him all the best as he commences his second three year term.”
