EU Traditional Herbal Medicines Registration Scheme comes into effect
Research carried out by the Irish Medicines Board reveals that some 77 per cent (8 out of 10) consumers think it is important that traditional herbal medicines should be regulated and that 80% of people believe it is necessary to inform their doctor when taking a herbal medicine.
The survey findings were released today in advance of a new regulatory system for traditional herbal medicines coming into effect across all EU member states from Sunday 1 May 2011. Further information is available from the Traditional Herbal Medicines Registration section of our website.
