Department of Health public consultation on new public health policy

The Department of Health is developing a public health policy, which aims to improve the health of the population and reduce health inequalities by addressing the causes of preventable illnesses.
To help shape the policy, the views of members of the public, healthcare professionals and others who have not been involved in the national and regional consultation events held in June are being sought between now and 30 September 2011.
The aim is to develop a policy for a healthier population of all ages and all sectors in society. This policy will cover the period 2012 to 2020.
